How Can I Become A Faster Reader Without Having To Skip Important Facts While Reading?
I read pretty slowly, but I’m able to retain a lot of the information that I read. Now, when I try to read quickly, I skip things, forget things, and have to go back to the material that I read before. I need help with this.
Also, how can I learn to focus more on reading, so that I can be able to read an entire book in one sitting, without feeling the need to get up and do something else?

First of all, you should always read the back of the book to find a short little summary. If nothing is there then flip to the inside flaps of the book. This should help because it gives a good summary of what to expect. So there, you should have a few good facts.
Then I suggest you skim the book very quicky, and find out the facts.
Then just sit back, relax and read!

I suggest you read the piece over and over again if you think it hasn’t sunk in properly. You should read more often too, so you get used to reading fast, but still being able to memorize the information. I sometimes have to do this.
It works for me.
I hope this helps.
Why do you need to do this? Maybe read shorter pieces so you can feel you’ve accomplished the whole thing before you stop?
If you REALLY want to read faster, my best advice is to practice. Just read. A lot.
