I do not read books online, only physical bound books.
On occasion I will listen to an audiobook in the truck but it has to be a very good story to hold my interest.

I haven’t read anything on a Kindle unit; it is quite an expensive investment originally. When I am attracted enough to a book through having read its description to want to read it, most often I prefer to own it, so I purchase it, as a result being the owner of an extensive collection. I can see, however, the value of switching to electronic reading — on Earth Day, for instance, the concept of saving zillions of trees! It may well be the way of the future, but it does seem so impermanent to me. I’ve written two novels which I self-published specifically for the reason that I wanted to see and touch them in book form. So long as they were only electronic impulses on my computer, I felt as if they could be easily lost! Nothing is forever, though, and, in the not-too-distant future books may become obsolete. Print newspapers already are reaping that fate. What options do we have than to accept whatever transpires? I do hope that print books will last!

I do have a few E-books, although I much prefer physical books.
A majority of people do seem to prefer paper books, possibly because they have been around for so many hundreds of years that we are conditioned towards them.
Plus, paper books are comparatively cheap, very accessible and can be recycled easily. They are also portable and convenient – No batteries / no expensive fixes / the only “software” needed is your eyes – so are more easily shared.

I hate reading digital books, because after awhile, your eyes get very tired. In addition, the digital pages are often much longer than the pages in the actual book, so it doesn’t feel like you’re making as much progress (which can be discouraging). Audiobooks are nice, if you don’t feel like reading, but if the reader is slow, it can sometimes take longer than it would to read the book yourself. Overall, I like reading normal books best.

My preference is for a physical book. I can throw it in my back pack, don’t have to worry about batteries or power sources and is generally easier on my eyes. I think the real problem of electronic books is the lack of presentation. With a book I can see the physical size, font, story lead, references, and with a glance can approximate the length of the story. I like the feel of paper, of being able to toss in a bookmark, the quality of the cover and art. There are times when I read from my electronic library, though those times are increasingly rare. I do like my electronic library and resources for articles that I can read while traveling, keeping me updated on topics of interest or current news when away from home.

I like such handy device, so I can utilize my time and pick it out for reading whenever I’ve some time. The screen is comparatively small, but I found it is not difficult to get used to it. Think of the netbook nowadays, it is much smaller than desktop and even traditional laptop, but they are getting more and more popular not only because of its price, but also lightweight, handy…
I do not like to read on computer for long hours. But if talking about reading on Kindle 2, it is quite a different story as it uses an e-Ink technology. I found it quite comfortable even for long hours of reading. The best place to verify is the actual customers review on Amazon. Read one or two reviews and you’ll know how the actual users feel about it:http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…

I hate staring at computer screens for too long because I get a head ache. I need the book in my hands to really enjoy reading it. Especially for school so I can highlight and write in it. Also, I like to read on the bus or outside…kinda hard with a laptop.
Though my school pushed kindle a lot…cause reduces the use of paper

  • Daisy says:

I prefer books but the only time I have to really read is at bedtime, and once my head hits the pillow, I’m out. It seems harder on the old eyes to read on the computer. Audiobooks are great for travel, for sure =)

well i dont like reading at all but if i hada choice id choose the electronical device…i guess my reason would b cuz my eyes get tired easily at looking at print from a book n holding the book is annoying…some books have small print which is annoying…havin an electronical device u can enhance the print

  • Skeane12 says:

I don’t know it doesn’t feel right if it isn’t paper… for starters I think its because there is no smell of a new book which something I really like for some reason, also books are portable, computers aren’t. So I prefer reading from a book.

    Kindle= Fail
I feel that books should be read in the traditional manner. Technology is taking over too much of our lives already. I like to get a drink and sit on the sofa and read a hard cover or soft cover book.

  • kja63 says:

I would never read a book on-line. Yuk.
First, the neck & eye strain would eventually get to me after an hour. Next, I love to hold books. I have thousands (all read) of them. I refuse to ever give up my books in print.

  • Bailey says:

I think I prefer reading an actual book, I’m not sure why. I like holding the book as I read it, and I think I might find reading a screen annoying.

  • lol says:

I think it kinda defeats the purpose of books.

  • andy2025 says:

    No way. That’s weird.

  • Greg says:

If it’s a long book then I’d rather have the actual book.
