What Kind Of Math And Reading Should My 4th Grader Be Capabale Of?

My daughter is going to enter 5th grade this September, and I’m afraid she might be a little behind on her math and reading skills. Can anyone use experience to sort-of fill me in on what her reading and mathematics levels should be?

at least a 4.0 or higher but the teacher will give her a dra test at the beginning and ending of the school year to see how she improve over the school year

if she’s a fourth grader, she should start knowing how to divide, and simplify.
she should also know a bit of variables.but not REAL algebra.
her read level should be at her grade level.
if she has trouble pronouncing words like “Genuis” or “alien” and her grammar is off-track,then she should be reading more.
if she has alot of trouble reading at her level, then you shoulod start her off with something easier.

If she is trying, then what she ‘should’ be matters none. Research has found putting emphasis on effort, not grades, makes children more likely to be successful adults.

4th grade math she should be doing multiplication and subtraction maybe fractions but that would be a little advanced like 5th grade
